We had a much smaller (3 cup) version of the stove top espresso maker that we had been using, after going through 2 plug in espresso machines. I like how fast this is, even for the big size, and the fact that there are so few parts - fewer parts to break or that would need to be replaced, unlike the plug in espresso makers. However - specific to this stove top espresso maker - you have to be very careful to twist the top on, all the way, perfectly aligned. Otherwise you end up with water all over your stove, which squeezes out when it heats up if the top hasn't been screwed on correctly. This appears to be a small design flaw, as we apparently cross threaded it once or more, which made it harder to correctly thread subsequent times.
Additionally once you get it threaded correctly, it must be tight, so tight that when you are finished and unscrew it can be hard to get a good enough grip to unscrew - without putting too much exertion on the somewhat unstable lid.
Otherwise, very satisfied.
